Resumo

Deste os tempos bi?blicos ja? ouvi?amos falar sobre sonhos. Apo?s as grandes revelac?o?es de Deus aos patriarcas e demais personagens do Antigo e Novo Testamentos, os sonhos continuaram a intrigar os grandes doutores da Igreja Ocidental e, com o passar dos anos, cientistas e estudiosos tambe?m se interessaram em saber qual a finalidade dos sonhos. Muita especulac?a?o foi feita e, ate? hoje encontramos diversas formas de interpretar os sonhos a? luz da cie?ncia ou entender as revelac?o?es divinas sob a perspectiva teolo?gica. No entanto, apesar de bastantes contestados, os estudos da psicana?lise foram os mais aceitos a respeito da finalidade e do porque? sonhamos. Entre as revelac?o?es divinas e os pensamentos contempora?neos encontramos caminhos que levaram o ser humano a buscar conhecer-se e buscar o cuidado e a cura pelos sonhos.Palavras-chave: Sonhos. Abstract

Since the Bible times, we have heard about dreams. After the great revelations of God to the patriarchs and to other characters of the Old and New Testaments, dreams have continued to intrigue the great doctors of the Western Church and, over the years, scientists and scholars were also interested in knowing the purpose of dreams. Much speculation has been made, and to this day we find various ways of interpreting dreams in the light of science or understanding divine revelations from the theological perspective. None the less, despite many contested ones, the studies of psychoanalysis concerning the purpose and why we dream were the most accepted. Between the divine revelations and the contemporary thoughts, we find paths that have led the human being to seek to know himself and to seek care and healing through dreams.
