Abstract

The objective of this monograph is to analyze part of Mariana iconography, especially the paintings which represent the episode of "Annunciation", produced in Italy during the sixteenth century. Visual documentary sources represented by paintings and textual sources represented by contemporary documents were used. Thus, based on the paintings and written documents have proposed a number of interpretations about painting Annunciation.
