Racism is articulated in Brazilian society in different ways, like a tree that has deep roots and produces different fruits. This article turns its attention to one of these fruits, recreational racism. Through an analysis of the records of Grande Otelo's trajectory, this article seeks to analyze the effect of non-place (Concept used by W.E.B Du Bois when describing the black experience in the diaspora) caused by Recreational Racism, a concept used by Adilson Moreira to describe the impacts caused by derogatory practices that develop through humor and that are found in some of the characters experienced by the artist.
