Abstract

From a case study of a family of upper middle class city of Manaus, in this essay we discuss the role of religion as a builder element of a kind of perception about domestic employment that has profound implications for the relationship between employed and employer. For this purpose we used the assumption that, at the heart of the relationship between employer/employee, the religious dimension fogs, at first , the distinction between what would be the constitutional own employment relationship, what would be under religious outside employment relationship. However, in a second moment, the situations of everyday life dissipate this blurring of work, and the distinction is showing. At this stage, religion functions as dialectical process, configuring as a source of legitimation and resistance in domestic employment.
